JOB DESCRIPTION
The Partner Manager is responsible for handling third party partnerships under the OptBlue and Aggregator models, ensuring productive and profitable relationships with partners that support American Express' objective of maximizing card acceptance across small merchants in Mexico


Main responsibilities are:

  • Owning relationships with the acquiring partners.
  • Engaging with acquiring partners to generate strategies that deliver value for both American Express and partner.
  • Devising and deploying strategies that will ensure American Express is available as a payment method across all partner's products (e.g., POS, contactless, ecommerce).
  • Leading tactical strategies to manage the sponsored merchant engagement funnel, ensuring enablement, engagement, welcomed acceptance and activation to maximize Cardmember POC and maximize business volume.
  • Ensure compliance control.
  • Work in partnership with internal teams across Global Acquiring Capabilities, Marketing, PCG, Pricing, GCO and GSG, among others

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payments industry.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience and relationship management skills of external partnerships, supported by strong communication skills to influence others in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to analyze and identify the root cause of problems to provide accurate solutions and drives results.
  • Understanding of basic financial drivers to achieve targets.
  • Ability to work in groups, build strong Blue Box linkages and across multiple functions.
  • Personal accountability to move forward for achieving individual and team goals.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
