Members can play, pause, and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.We are looking to build a Consumer Products team to help amplify impact and conversation through our fandom and love around titles, developing new channels for consumers and communities to interact with Netflix. We are pursuing a Hardlines Category Specialist for Consumer Products Mexico to drive meaningful show awareness/buzz with more tangible, curated ways for fans to interact with our most popular content and, in effect, drive long-term revenue. The Role The Hardlines Category Specialist (HCS) is responsible for developing and executing against a long-term business strategy for Mexico in the Hardlines sub-categories: Toys, Consumer Electronics, Publishing, Back to School & Stationery. As part of the Mexico team, the HCS will be responsible for growing the CP business in line with divisional strategies and guidelines whilst leveraging a strong knowledge of the market according to needs and opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying the best licensees to partner with, gaining mkt support, driving innovation and quality product ranges, providing input into deals, and accurately forecasting and promoting the retail sell-in of core ranges.

    Key Responsabilities:

  • With direction from the Licensing manager in Mexico, develop a clear growth strategy for each subcategory of business (including targets) and benchmark progress.
  • Identify opportunities and fill gaps by IP, product sub-category, consumer & market channel.
  • Negotiate the best deals and manage the process from contract to product development and execution.
  • Execute new business development pitches and identify scalable opportunities that generate impact and conversation (GAPs for new business opportunities). Collaborate closely with Merchandise Strategy teams to develop and update strategies for Global and local titles in Mexico and Nola.
  • Maintain and update internal systems and docs with category licensing plans and activity.
  • Collaborate with licensing partners to obtain placement updates.
  • Assist Licensing Manager Mexico with compiling licensing recaps following product launches. Handle daily tactical business needs in the back office, managing operational tools such as deal memos, contracts, NDA's obtaining approvals with producers and partners.
  • Work closely with Finance and ops teams with the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasting, and budget process as directed. Facilitate receipt of forecasts and send royalty payment reminders as needed.
  • Partner with Creative teams to keep product development on track to attain commercial objectives.
  • Develop a detailed post-mortem agenda for the main licensed programs.
  • Provide support to the Licensing manager in coordinating and/or leading sales/retailers presentations for business purposes.
  • Collaborate with agencies in developing sales briefs and product pitches for selling the programs.
  • Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the licensing industry at similar positions (or Category Management).
  • Effective multi-tasker with excellent planning and prioritization skills, capable of creating, driving, and executing initiatives to tight deadlines.
  • Impeccable written and spoken English and Spanish communication skills.
  • Background in building brands across various channels of distribution.
  • Proven track record delivering growth and solid analytical/financial skills.
  • Proven ability pitching and negotiating skills with the ability to close deals.
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and take charge.
  • Strong people person able to influence others.
  • Ability to customize/create sales presentations and other materials as needed.
  • Communicates with impact: Develops and delivers compelling presentations, possesses an instinct on how to communicate and when to communicate to drive business results; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Able to rationalize complex decisions and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of digital, social, and brick-and-mortar marketing and retail landscape.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced corporate environment.
