    Join a leading automotive manufacturer as our Machinery Design and Integration Leader in Ciudad Juarez

    The responsibilities will be lead a team of engineers and technicians to achieve goals in machinery design, technical availability, and cycle times. Collaborate on international projects, propose cost-effective solutions, and ensure compliance with standards.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities as Machinery Design and Integration Leader

    • Lead and mentor your team, setting priorities and tracking progress on machinery design projects.
    • Oversee team development and performance evaluations.
    • Ensure equipment under your supervision meets targets for technical availability, cycle time, and defect costs.
    • Support the specification, validation, and release of new production equipment, line installations, and ramp-ups.
    • Maintain high equipment availability, analyzing system failures to identify root causes and implement effective solutions across electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems.
    • Uphold manufacturing process compliance with engineering principles, customer requirements, and company standards.
    • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction activities for machinery updates and upgrades.
    • Participate in creating and updating risk assessments for new machinery projects.
    • Manage personnel matters including scheduling, leave, and disciplinary actions.

    Specific Technical Tasks

    • Collaborate with international cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility of machinery design and integration within the manufacturing environment.
    • Propose cost-effective manufacturing solutions and develop cost estimates.
    • Possess a strong foundation in design practices.
    • Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD software is required, with preference for Inventor and AutoCAD.
    • Create and interpret 3D models and technical drawings, including piping and wiring layouts, P&IDs, and mechanical schematics.
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes, including testing, automation, mechanical engineering, traceability, software, and industrial engineering principles.
    • Working knowledge of standardized work practices, time studies, and ergonomics.
    • Present project plans and progress to management.
    • Establish and monitor team goals aligned with departmental objectives.
    • Participate in the recruitment process.
    • Contribute to business planning activities for manpower and equipment.

    Qualifications as a Machinery Design and Integration Leader

    • Bachelor's degree in M echanical Design, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or a closely related field.
    • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (advanced English required).

    Skills & Experience

    • 5-7 years of experience in machinery design (mechanical or mechatronic).
    • Strong understanding of core manufacturing processes.
    • Broad engineering background encompassing mechanical, robotics, electrical, software, and vision systems.
    • Experience working across disciplines within engineering.
    • Project management experience leading cross-functional teams across departments or locations.
    • Excellent communication and networking skills to collaborate with suppliers, internal departments, other plants, and development teams.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in statistical methods.
