    Job Description

    Viking Enterprise Solutions, a division of Sanmina Corporation, is responsible for the design of high-performance storage and server systems for the OEM/JDM marketplace. Due to our continued success
    and growth, VES has an opportunity for an entry-level Electrical Component Specialist. This is an opportunity to join the VES team for an exciting career on the cutting edge in data storage product and
    server product design.

    Component Engineer

    Job Purpose:
    The Component Engineer will participate in a Value Engineering role in component selections, reviews, and low-level product content that leads to the successful release and ongoing production of VES products. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of electronic components and their key characteristics, hands-on experience with test and measurement, working with global supply chain component management tools, working with preferred supplier lists process and related skills that can deliver sustainable bill-of-materials (BOM) at the lowest costs against project schedules and deliverables. The successful candidate will have the interpersonal and self-organization skills to work with Design teams, Operations NPI and Costing Teams, and Corporate supply chain teams.
    The successful candidate will build relationships with key suppliers for cost management and continuity of supply. The successful candidate will drive quality through BOM accuracy and completeness against VES standards, including participating in BOM reviews and change management.

    This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity for the right individual who has developed a substantial skill set, has good self-management abilities, and is dedicated to the success of the teams we serve.

    Nature of Duties:
    Critical job functions include:
    ● BOM Analysis, Segregation, Scrubs for EOL and Value Engineering
    ● BOM cost reduction activities (system level and component level)
    ● Component Selection, Alternate Sourcing, Form Fit Function (FFF) Analysis including test and measurement
    ● Engineering Change Orders generation and review for accuracy and completeness
    ● Component Obsolescence Management (Supplier; EOL, PCN)
    ● Interact with Design Engineers, NPI & Operations Team, Global Supply Teams and Suppliers
    ● Layered BOM structure understanding & PLM system skills
    ● Participate in VES and Customer processes for environmental compliance (RoHS, REACH, Full Material Disclosures,
    etc...)
    ● Prepare and submit part/assembly classification documents for customs clearance
    ● Support product quality activities as needed (RC, CAPA, etc...)

    Education and Experience:
    ● Bachelor ́s Degree in engineering in Electronics with a minimum of 5 years of experience
    ● Relevant work experience in Component Engineering with a minimum of 3yrs of experience
